Origin

From fictional frontier to frontier company

It began as a world that did not yet exist.

Youth began in 2021 as Basel Darwish's personal project, then called "You". At the time, he was a freshman studying Business Administration at the British University in Egypt.

The original idea was a fictional game set in 2035 in the area now known as the New Delta. Players would explore Egypt's western frontier, complete missions and earn rewards as they travelled across the frontier and discovered a story about a modern Egypt. As they progressed, they could buy cars and properties across the map, then start businesses that generated passive income. The game would unfold in seasons, with each new season expanding the map toward another frontier to discover and new features for users to experience.

But one question bothered Basel: why couldn't this happen in real life? Why couldn't there be new towns here that he could live in? He dreamed of a frontier like those in stories of cowboys, pioneers, travelling scholars, brave explorers, and merchants; except modern, dignified, economically productive, and most importantly, here in our country and ours: yours and mine. It was a story of a Youth exploding out from the valley into the desert towards a new striving, to build a new life from the sand, and earn their destiny. He wondered why he felt confined to crowded cities, traffic and urban life when Egypt's land is so vast. He had the courage and determination, but not the resources. A solution had to be found. One that was possible and that did not depend on anyone's goodwill or mercy, but through business, individual, and government opportunities that allow profitability, societal & economic development, and sustainability for everyone involved.

To solve for that solution; Basel had to solve for many other questions in many fields such as infrastructure, construction, industry, agriculture, housing, education, healthcare, and everything that people needed for everyday life. It was not full solutions or field expertise, it was inclusion in the Frontier's plan and providing economic/business solutions while leaving the work of experts to experts.

He knew it was impossible alone, but he knew it was possible and maybe easy if he persuaded others who would also benefit, join, and live, work, or earn there and created something that allows all businesses and authorities to coordinate and work together in economic or business efforts as separate entities without control or centralized authority to achieve this, an alliance. A coherent plan of action and a framework to achieve this was needed.

It was not perfect, but it was good enough for a start that provides a vision, plan, methods, benefits, services, coordination, and more and that others could join into, help carry the work forward at a high-quality with the people who work and are experienced in these fields, and succeed together in the New Delta to make it our new homeland.

This massive tree of thought happened as he lived his daily life in day-dreams, free-time, simple ideas that were expanded upon, thinking while bored in transportation, lectures, and work, and so on. The solution required starting from scratch from the blocks of everything possible to build the best life in this land for him and his people who also wanted to migrate there and to make it easy for all future frontierspeople and future frontier founders like him, so you can be one too.

There it was: the desert, the empty land. More than 90% of Egypt's land was unused. It was waiting for brave people to build it: you and me.

Welcome to the Frontier, the Land of the Striving.

THE QUESTION THAT CHANGED THE PROJECTHow could this become real?

Over the next four to five years, the idea evolved rapidly into a search for the scientific, economic and commercial foundations needed to develop the society and economy of a desert region. This search for answers happened alongside Basel's daily life, the blurry and difficult image becoming clearer and more complete piece by piece. What began as an app evolved into a passion for economics and many other topics, while Basel never lost his passion for the dream of a frontier and a new life. It finally became a study and a plan to reach it.

THE SEED (STARTING POINT OF FIELD)PEACE KITS

Production, Extraction, Agriculture, Construction, Exchange (Commerce), Knowledge, Infrastructure, Transportation (Logistics), and Services. It can also be organized as SPACE KITE.

That search became Commercial Economics. The early pillars (seed) were found and organized while answering the question "What are the foundational activities of an economy?" and expressed through the acronym; PEACE KITS or SPACE KITE. This seed sprouted into a massive tree of development theories, further foundational activities like finance, defense, governance, space, etc., economic theories, economic initiatives and projects, administrative reforms, Frontierism, and more, all sprouting from this seed of the initial pillars of Commercial Economics. The inquiry moved toward pragmatic programs and implementable solutions, while tackling physical challenges including water, electricity, pollution, town design and more.

The ideas were later organized into a book called The Frontier, which brought together the vision for productive towns, industry, infrastructure, migration and economic development. However, this book was instead shattered into Youth's library with each work and section receiving its own publication for interested users to read.

Finally, the work became Youth Technology: a stewardship company with a clear vision, strong foundations, purpose and practical goals towards developing the New Delta, its home. Each step held difficulty; each step also brought the growth and strength needed to begin, build the frontier and keep going.

We have gathered enough knowledge to begin seriously, but every project will require deeper research and close cooperation with partner businesses, specialists and public institutions.

Youth Technology, its field of Commercial Economics, its work and its wider vision strive to answer one question:How can you build a successful economy and society here, sustainably?
Our work is not finished. It has only just begun.

What Youth does

Knowledge into productive activity

What Youth does.

Youth Technology mascots developing a connected model of Egyptian agriculture, utilities, manufacturing and economic towns
ONE CONNECTED SYSTEMKnowledge, coordination and productive capability.

Youth develops the knowledge, tools and commercial structures needed to turn development ideas into productive activity.

We research how towns, businesses and economic sectors can function as connected systems—linking industry, agriculture, construction, infrastructure, technology, services, finance and public institutions.

From that research, we create practical outputs such as standards, development models, business concepts, technologies, proposals and coordination platforms.

Our role is not to build every part ourselves. It is to identify what is missing, design how the pieces can work together and help the right businesses, specialists and institutions participate.

A sustainable caretaker model

Built as a business. Responsible as a steward.

Youth operates as a for-profit company because meaningful development requires lasting financial strength. Revenue allows us to fund research, develop technologies, work with specialists and take on larger, more ambitious projects. However, it is also a stewardship meaning it holds a caretaker role and responsibility towards the region of the New Delta and it's success, development, and life in it.

Profit keeps the work moving, but it is not our only measure of success. We also judge our work by the businesses strengthened, opportunities created, productive systems built and lives improved.

This is what stewardship means to us. These profits are also the sources of our salaries and earnings as employees and partners of Youth Technology. Youth Technology prefers providing income for the homes and families of those who work in it and providing jobs and opportunities for young Egyptians.

Youth does not claim ownership over the New Delta, its people or its institutions. Public authority remains with the state, businesses remain independent and individuals choose how they participate.

Our role is to research, coordinate, support, promote and contribute. Our philosophy is symbiosis and mutual success. Your success is our success.

We are working toward the establishment of a special economic zone (SEZ) with policies that encourage investment, strengthen Egyptian companies and support people choosing to build new businesses, homes and lives in the New Delta.

The proposed SEZ would provide a stable framework for Youth Technology, its Alliance, businesses and government authorities to work in the New Delta. It would support development, attract domestic and foreign investment, make it easier for people and businesses to relocate, and encourage Egypt's domestic economy. The proposal also calls for a government zone authority to administer the New Delta region and carry out its related governance responsibilities.

07A family beginning a new life.
Mutual success sustains the work. Your success is our success.

The work ahead

We did not wait for someone else to build it.

Youth began by asking how the New Delta could support a productive economy and lasting communities. That question became research, development models, construction standards and proposals that others can examine and improve.

Building a region takes public institutions, developers, manufacturers, farmers, engineers, researchers, financial partners, workers and residents making informed commitments. Youth works to connect these capabilities and help turn credible plans into practical projects.

We welcome partners who can contribute knowledge, capacity or investment. Together we can test assumptions, define responsibilities and build in stages, with value that extends beyond the New Delta.

Start with evidence and clear responsibilities.Build with the people who can carry the work forward.

Commercial Economics

An economic school for building

Commercial Economics: an economic school for building.

Commercial Economics is Youth's developing school of applied physical economic development.

What must exist for a society to produce, function and grow?

The answer includes agriculture, industry, construction, infrastructure, transportation, finance, technology, education, healthcare, public services and the institutions needed to support them.

Commercial Economics studies these activities as one connected system.

It does not reject finance, markets or mathematics. It simply requires every plan to be tested against physical and commercial reality:

  1. 01Are the materials available?
  2. 02Is there enough water and energy?
  3. 03Can the necessary skills be found?
  4. 04Who will build and operate the project?
  5. 05Who will buy its output?
  6. 06Why would each participant take part?

Commercial Economics is still developing. Youth will publish selected research, standards and methods so they can be studied, challenged and improved.

The field should be judged by what it helps create in the real world.

The first field of application

The New Delta is where the vision becomes real.

The New Delta is Youth's home and first field of application.

Our vision is not a region of isolated farms, factories or housing projects. It is a connected productive society made up of open towns, industry, agriculture, infrastructure, commerce, services and families building permanent lives.

Youth began as a fictional frontier.

It became a search for how that frontier could exist.

That search became Commercial Economics. Commercial Economics became The Frontier. The book became a company. And the company has now begun its work.

How do we make this frontier world real—a new homeland and a new striving?

We begin by building it together.
